Mahler Necklace by Rebecca Hector Clarke, who is the hand-embroidery artist behind Nook of the North. Working from her home studio in Yorkshire, she explores texture, colour and form using threads and sustainable materials, creating unique and carefully crafted pieces of wearable art.

Rebecca has been exploring the use of printing techniques in the 1950s and 1960s. This led her to look at some amazing designers, such as Marion Mahler, after whom this necklace is named.

The pendant is made with linen and is fully interfaced to provide support. She has stitched geometric shapes with the fabric on a hoop and then bound the edges using embroidery threads in Olive and Cobalt Blue.

This is suspended under a hammered Silver bar and hung from a chain of Sterling Silver. She has enamelled the silver bar to prevent tarnishing. All findings are sterling silver.

The pendant measures 90x50mm and the chain is a 24" long trace chain.
