Handmade ceramic beaker created by Neo Naturist artist Christine Binnie to celebrate Women in Revolt! Art and Activism in the UK 1970–1990 exhibition at the Whitworth.
Inspired by Alderley Edge in Manchester.
Each beaker is glazed and the engraved using a technique call sgraffito. This is a form of decoration made by scratching through a surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting colour, done in slip on ceramics before firing.
As each beaker is handmade by Christine, please expect variations in size and shape to the images shown.
