This book celebrates the impact and explores the legacy of the Still Parents Programme and Exhibition. It features the inspirational artwork created by the Still Parents project participants as well as highlights works from the Whitworth’s extensive collection chosen by them.
Still Parents is the Whitworth’s ongoing programme to support parents who have experienced the loss of a baby in pregnancy or just after birth, in partnership with Manchester Sands (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Charity). Under the guidance of professional artists, a monthly workshop programme encourages participants to collectively explore their experience of baby loss through art and creativity.
The Still Parents: Life After Baby Loss exhibition, the first of its kind, ran at the Whitworth from September 2021 – December 2022 creating a platform to share personal stories, open up conversations and help to break the silence that continues to surround baby loss.
All the proceeds from the sales of this book go directly back into funding the ongoing Still Parents workshop programme. Your support helps more bereaved parents access these powerful workshops.
