Hamja Ahsan Cap - Red (Popular Front Liberation Fried Chicken) - lumbung Kios

Popular Front for the Liberation of Fried Chicken (red cap & T-shirt) is part of Hamja Ahsan’s fictional Halal Fried Chicken franchises, original exhibited around Kassel city for the duration of Documenta 15. The PFLFC name is inspired by the British comedy Citizen Smith dreamed-up group Tooting Popular Front and the iconography of International revolutionary guerillas and anticolonial groups. Tooting is where Hamja grew up and ate Halal Fried Chicken. The shop lightbox was originally exhibited on the front entrance of Fridericianum Museum - as critical intervention of classical architecture during Documenta with the scrolling LED text "We are a hungry people" in England and German.

Lumbung Kios are exhibiting in Economics the Blockbuster as part of Manchester International Festival. They are a global network of artists forging a self-driven, sustainable economic model for selling their work, and provide merchandise with a purpose.
